This Girl!! SUCH a gem. Carleigh lights up every single room she walks in with her incredible smile, genuine heart and contagious laugh. Photographing people like her make me SO thankful I get to do this and spend time with people like her, and that I get the chance to try and show off their wonderful hearts and smiles through my images.
This girl. The biggest smile. The sweetest laugh. The goofiest attitude and demeanor that can make anybody's day. Miss this sweet one and my second home and family in Louisiana. Enjoy these BEAUTIFUL pictures of a girl with an even more beautiful heart!
During my time traveling through Europe, I was able to make a brief stop into the Netherlands to visit Amsterdam, Holland, and my favorite- The Gardens of Keukenhof! This place is an absolute DREAM. Especially for me, someone who lights up completely when flowers are around. We decided to take a professional tour of the Gardens to really get the most out of our day there. The tour started in Amsterdam where we loaded up a bus and drove for about 30 minutes before seeing fields and fields of gorgeous blossoms! It seemed to almost be a mini theme park with so many activities and things to do, while also being a 5 minute walk away from looking out over the country side at the amazing variety of flowers and roses. The experience and view was unlike any other and I cannot wait to go back and visit again!
I've had the amazing blessing of being able to visit Paris a few times, each time being better than the last. This city is truly magical and I always notice, learn, eat and try NEW THINGS! And this is by far one of my favorite things about life. This specific time we did a very millennial thing. We rode SEGWAYS throughout the city. Segways! Yes-- just like the ones they ride in Mall Cop. And let me be the first to let you know, this is the greatest and most exciting way to see the city! We loved every minute. You can't walk for miles & miles on end every day without being exhausted and worn out, especially in a new city where it is inevitable you will get lost. But you CAN ride for miles & miles, enjoying yourself, while riding right next to National Monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, Hotel de Invalides, The Louvre, and many many more! Highly suggested. Here are some of my favorite captures during my time in the city. Enjoy!
"WOAH!" - This was my invariable, exaggerated screech at nearly every turn we made driving down the coasts & through the back roads of the most beautiful countryside, IRELAND! This trip was categorically marvelous. Genuinely almost every 5 minutes of our drive I was practically screaming for the car to stop so I could run out & shoot the beauty my eyes almost didn't believe was real. You have never felt true peace & tranquility until you have sat on top of a cliff in Ireland watching eagles soar around you & violent, huge & magnificent waves crash below you. It's honestly an experience I wouldn't easily give for the world. Getting to experience pubs, loads of Irish music, & ancient castles upon ancient castles will give you incentive to never go home. Here are some of my favorite captures from my time in Ireland, I hope you enjoy!
Manchester had SO many perks, but one of the things I miss the most about this city (and really the whole country) is walking up and down the streets and casually strolling in and out of all the neat coffee, tea, and pastry shops. All the fun barista's you get talking, and making friends with our table neighbors. Meeting everyone ranging from fellow photographers, striving fashion majors, tattoo artists, and the occasional hipster who could keep you entertained with conversation for hours. These will be memories we cherish forever.
THIS CITY. Can't get enough. I had the incredible opportunity to spend a little over 3 months in this city, living and learning in a brand new place with brand new people. This experience was definitely unlike any other. If I am being 100% honest, my time there included the lowest of lows in my life, but also the highest of highs. And during all of that, I was able to truly FIND MYSELF. Truly find who I am, and who I always want to be in the good, the bad, and the imminent, REALLY ugly. I would not trade my time there for the world!
Here's a few "firsts" I experienced: #1- Walking in heels in America for 1/2 mile isn't the same as walking 5 in Europe (always go with flats). #2- The never failing stares once everyone hears your coffee order in your very-American-accent (which then brought along brilliant conversations) are always worth the time to stop and talk. #3-The casual yet accidental inflection change pick up is totally a win. #4- So is the word "quite" being forever burned into your vocabulary #5- Getting used to public bus transportation isn't as easy as you might think, especially when you're googling which stop to get off at, while also trying to balance the shrinking stairs down the double decker as the bus is screeching to an abrupt stop (I only wiped out once, and in my defense the bus floor was REALLY wet)!
Here are some of my absolute favorite creations from my time in Manchester, shots include Manchester Cathedral, Manchester Town Hall, my favorite park to explore in the first snow we had (my favorite shot!), University of Manchester, Manchester Library, amazing street art, and some of our favorite rooftop-view finds!
Oxford! This whole city feels like you're on the set of a perfect old-timey movie, with old landscapes, stunning architecture, and castles and cathedrals on every side of you. It's incredible! We got to visit some really neat landmarks they have here. C.S Lewis and JRR Tolkien were known to stop, think, write and eat at a really neat pub/restaurant that is still standing and operating in Oxford, so we got to stop in for lunch which was really exhilarating. To be sitting in the seats that some of the greatest writers and inspirators of our time did some of their most memorable work is incredibly humbling. We also got to visit C.S Lewis' house and the forrest a few steps behind his house that apparently was the inspiration for Chronicles of Narnia. So yeah, pretty amazing! I was so caught up and mentally taking everything in that I did skip out on using the camera as much as I know wish I had. Buuut, still snagged a few- enjoy!
If you need a peaceful and relaxing get away from the hustle of life, buy yourself a plane ticket to Wales, pronto! This place is so wonderful. We had the fortunate opportunity to stay in a cozy cabin on the outskirts of town while there. Hiking and exploring nature trails and back roads were always calling our names for fun adventures! Then driving a few miles and exploring old castles and architecture were breathtaking at every turn. Here are some of my favorite shots from my time here!
